What display driver version do you have installed? | Standard VGA Graphics currently, but has failed with every updated driver install. Latest tried was 15.33.14.64.3412. Also failed with newest Intel update through Windows update, published 2/25/14. |

What happens that results in the blackscreen failure? | After brand new build, noticed in Device Manager that the HD4400 driver was not installed, so I installed latest driver available from Intel Download Center, restarted computer, and lost signal right as Windows loaded, but I could still hear start-chime, and using keyboard shortcuts was still able to navigate start menu and restart. So Windows was definitely up and responding, just no signal to monitor. Rebooted in safe mode, disabled driver in device manager, and restarted, and everything was fine. Tried this with every older driver I could find, and even wiped hard drive and reinstalled Windows. No dice. |
Are there any updates with this so far? Anyone come up with a fix? Going to get a new DVI cable today and try it out, along with testing this on other monitors if I can find some to borrow. If not, I'll be going with cheap dedicated card as Intel graphics drivers are highly unreliable at this point. The whole point of my build was something reliable on a low budget, so I was really counting on using integrated graphics.
