I have not been able to replicate this issue. I updated my graphics driver to the version you are using.
Did you update any Intel® WiDi related drivers or software before testing with the preinstalled drivers?
I updated everything from: http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wtech/iwd/sb/CS-031109.htm
Did the system come with Intel® WiDi preinstalled?
Yes
When you connect to Intel® WiDi, the software usually prompts to update the TV adapter’s firmware, by correctly resetting the adapter, the firmware should go to the initial version and the software should prompt to update again. Please make sure this also happens so you will know the adapter is reset correctly.
I've updated the firmware

I've done that many times (more than 15)
Can you also provide the name of the displays the way Intel® HD Graphics Control Panel detects them?
"Built-in Display" & "Intel® WiDi"
